You are bilingual (English – French) and want to join a research organization with a global reach whose work in microtechnology has an impact on health, IT, telephony, the automobile industry, consumer electronics, etc.

We are seeking a bilingual science writer (English – French). The successful applicant will join our communications department, which promotes the work of the CEA-Leti Institute and of its 2,000 researchers to several target audiences: scientific communities, French and international industrial partners, specialized journalists, and research engineers.

Your main objective will be to produce editorial content in English.

• You will identify, analyze, and assess available information, relying on communication correspondents from CEA-Leti’s departments.
• You will determine how to present information to different audiences according to defined editorial lines (factual, narrative, academic, or institutional) and for different media: press releases, websites, thematic reports, brochures, social media flyers, video storyboards, etc.
• You will write content in English, translate from French to English, and oversee approval phases. You will coordinate service providers in charge of translating content into French, formatting, etc. You will upload website and social media content.
• You will be responsible for the 2023 editorial overhaul of the Institute’s website. Based on an audit and benchmark, you will define the editorial line of the website, write bilingual content about identified topics, monitor content integration, and assess the website’s performance.
• You will be responsible for the consistency (in tone and editorial line) of all content from our communications department.

Additional responsibilities

• Collaborating and producing content when relevant with other units (CEA communications, Carnot institutes, etc.).

Job based in Grenoble, including 1 to 2 days working from home.

Applicant Profile

• Master’s degree in journalism, IT / communications, or science
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
• Minimum of five years of experience writing content in English on scientific or technological topics
• Command of outreach and editorial techniques (print and digital)
• Has the required skills and enjoys teamwork and cross-disciplinary work
