ENE, founded in 2003, is a consortium of eight institutions: The Rhône Board of Trade, MEDEF Lyon-Rhône (an association of business leaders), CPME  Rhône (an association of small business owners), the AURA Regional Chamber of Commerce, the AURA Regional Board of Trade, MEDEF AURA, and CPME AURA.

ENE is run by sixteen business leaders elected by the founding institutions and representatives of its financers (Lyon Intermunicipal Authority, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council).

ENE’s mission is to help small and mid-sized businesses from across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region leverage digital technology to make their businesses more competitive. Specifically, ENE provides:

  • Information on how digital technology can be used by businesses
  • Support from a neutral party on digital project implementation
  • Experimentation with digital tools on real-world projects before investing
  • Forecasting new uses for digital technology likely to add substantial value for SMEs
  • Project management with a network of local resource persons on region-wide initiatives
  • Communication to share best practices among peers

Partnership with Leyton

The European Commission and the French Directorate General for Enterprise have begun to clarify what the EDIH call for proposals will look like.  The proposals will have to include a wide range of information and be organized to ensure that they effectively communicate the power of our ecosystem, our desired outcomes, and our plan for getting there.

We decided to work with Leyton, one of Europe’s leading innovation financing specialists, to help us analyze our proposal and ensure that it aligns with the specifications and assessment criteria.

French cluster federation EDIH working group

AFPC, France’s national federation of clusters, brings together 56 clusters working to support business growth and job creation. Together, these clusters have more than 12,000 members. One of AFPC’s missions is to encourage and facilitate communication and cooperation among its members to develop a set of best practices and roll out joint initiatives at the national and EU levels.

Minalogic is an active member of several AFPC working groups.

As a member of the Factory of the Future working group (24 clusters), Minalogic recommended creating a joint initiative on the EDIHs to be established at the national level. Several clusters have already come forward to work on a wide range of topics:

  • Missions and objectives
  • Technologies and markets
  • Services (current and future)
  • Governance

And

  • The role of the clusters
    Opportunities

The working group meetings will provide an opportunity to ensure the quality of the EDIH proposals submitted by French clusters, build networks, interact with government agencies, and more.
